Juan Fernandez-Barquin has always been a leader when it comes to our local community. He started his legal career practicing law as a criminal defense lawyer as an Assistant Public Defender. Afterwards he practiced law at a civil law firm, and then opened up his own law firm. In 2018, he was elected as a State Representative, and re-elected in 2020 and 2022. Since June 2023 he has served as the Miami-Dade County Clerk of the Court and Comptroller, working hard to improve the office.

- Florida International University (FIU) Honors College, Bachelor of Arts in Economics, cum laude, 2005.
- American University Washington College of Law, Juris Doctor, 2008.
Experience
- Studied Economics at FIU.
- Practiced criminal and civil law for over 15 years. Licensed to practice law in Florida, New York, and District of Columbia.
- Served as State Representative from 2018 to 2023.
